The site seems to have intermitant issues with Firefox - typically after an upgrade. It squishes all the forums to the right and expands the left panel out past centre.
Not a whine as much as an observation
Ok I should have put this under "report an issue" (just admitting to it before anyone smacks me for it)

What do you mean when you say "typically after an upgrade"? An upgrade to Firefox?
BTW - it does this in IE as well. This is why I was trying to do the server move and migration - in order to update all of the code and layout templates. However, this project is going to take longer than I had originally expected, so I am going to have to work out an actual project plan and get some assistance to make this happen. More on this later. |

My apologies for not being clear. I meant an upgrade to the site. Everything justifies and lay out correctly in IE, but in Firefox all themessages are squished over to the right and the left toolbar stretches way too far to the right - in effect pushing the message column into a very narrrow column indeed.
It has happened before - thelast time was the last time the site was down for maintenance and I can only assume you updated the back end then and again this time, resulting in the justification funkiness.

Interesting. I updated nothing at all. The only thing that changed is what IP the Domain Name was pointing to.
As soon as I get a chance I will look into this. |

Perhaps it's a Firefox bug then.
One very annoying element o this issue is that everytime I click a hyperlink it doesn't link - it further right justifies the right hand column, in effect causing the link I want to activate to "dodge" my mouse click. I have to chase it down and click it (or at least AT it) 3 or 4 times before it will stop moving.

It's not a firefox bug, it's crappy ie-specific coding. This software is awful. I understand Justin wants something that works in Windows, but the previous software worked in windows just fine (installing apache2 and php5 in windows is easy. So is mysql). There are dozens of packages available - I don't understand why he's sticking with this garbage.

Gary - you are free to leave anytime you want.
After much research I was able to find some advice on how to correct this issue - that ONLY shows up with Firefox. This is not crappy ie specific coding - it is very standard HTML that Firefox is ignoring.
Let me know if the CSS change that I have implemented helps. |

Don't be such a crybaby Justin. I'm not attacking you, I'm claiming the software sucks. It does.
It *IS* IE-specific coding. IE doesn't conform to standards. Firefox does. This software uses IE-specific coding to show text in the mouseover, and to lay out the windows.
And your fix didn't work - it's still doing the same thing.

| Odd - I was having the same "crushed to the right" problem as everyone else but it seems to be running OK for me now. I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.3 on Kubuntu Linux. |

Yup, quite a bit of improvement this morning - on my gaming machine, it works like a charm today (1280x1024). Yesterday, on my laptop (1440x900 screen) it was still screwy. I'll check it on my hp laptop (1440x900) and mac (1440x900) later today.
