I noticed that case authorization simply said

To receive a Case Authorization, a fighter MUST:

Demonstrate safe use of a case of rapiers

does this mean that there is case fighting for c&t too?

Case is not a valid weapons style for Cut and Thrust

A case of rapiers refers to two swords made to fit together into the same scabbard, basically.

Brace refers to combat with two swords. Main reason? The lack of consistent evidence that this style is appropriate for C&T.

Just to be troublesome, I'd like to point out that DiGrassi (a transitional period master) talked about the use of two swords in his book. On the other hand, I think I remember him saying that it wasn't a very good idea.

Either way, I'd be leery of case/brace authorization for C&T strictly on grounds of safety. It's a hard enough art to master with rapier. Thus the 6 month delay before you can test for case. With C&T's additional need for control, I'd say you'd need a year before applying for C&T case. That puts the first possible C&T case authorization somewhere in the year 2008. By then, there may be a new rules revision in the works. More importantly, by then we might have some idea if we even want to go there. To get to the point, there's no real need to put a C&T case authorization in the current set of rules.
