Warwick, 1) I agree, you were NOT the guy with 6 guns on his person. 2) I'll be at Coronet this weekend and later at Investiture in Lionsdale: See you there 3) I would love to test your guys vs my guys. Maybe next year 4) I agree that RGB's can be fun, when used appropriately, and I like where this thread has taken the conversation. Most people here agree that SCA warfare / skirmishes can become less fun when the sides are mismatched for one reason or another, and we all seem to agree that the TRPs are the place to regulate the sides and the equipment, and I am satisfied with that. There was nothing wrong with Augustine's plans for Clinton, and in the end we did forfiet the war point to your side. That was our choice and our right by the rules of the lists in AnTir. I have apologised to you in person if that took some of the fun out of it for you, for that was not my intention for my part. I will be at Clinton next year and I will have a part in the scenarios regardless of how the sides are split and the equipment used. |

Kieran - my friend - please do not assume any of the vitriol or chest beating in my last post was directed at you personally, or anyone in particular (other than the name change of course... - but it looks like I'll have to retract that one - too bad I was hoping it would stick...). Rereading my post I see that your misunderstanding is my fault through flawed paragraph structure.
Rest assured I hold you in high regard and consider you one of the best people I know, period, (not just in the SCA) and a model for others.
And as much as I would enjoy crossing blades with you on the weekend, I'll be heading out of town on a business trip. Raincheck please.
And on a final note - I have no issues with how things played out at Clinton. It's sword camp. It's pretty hard not to have a good time at sword camp. I think the issues and the fall out from the issues have been blown out of proportion, as things like this tend to do in hindsight. Ultimately I take it as a lesson for all of us, and for me, looking back will help me look forward to other events and what I must remember when designing fight scenarios.
