This just came across the West Kingdom fencers list. Based on discussions at the 12th night meeting I thought I would post it here and see what our next plans were for AnTir. "Yesterday at the BoD meeting, which was held here in Atlanta, the BoD approved the revised rapier rules including Cut and Thrust. They were specific to mentioning that it was included. In speaking later with the Chairman of the BoD, Jason mentioned that with just a few exceptions, those interested in this revision were polite and well reasoned in their correspondence with the Board. The Board members appreciated this and were aware that it was a long wait for this approval. Also approved at the meeting was an appendix to the A&S Historical Combat rules, to include definitions that are useful in describing blades/weapons/ simulators. THe BoD directed that this list be shared with the SEM. " Lessingham |

Cool!
Where would one find these rules? I couldn't find them on the An Tir site, nor the SCA main site...

The new Society Rapier rules that were approved by the BoD have just been sent to the KW KRM list. Some review will be needed prior to the official adoption for use in An Tir. Please be patient. You all have waited this long, another month or so will not kill you (looking at you Luciano). ;) Ramon |

This will be the last time I see any of you until May at the earliest. So if I don't get to fight C&T this weekend, I don't get to do it till May. Luciano |

Yes - we have the new rules for C&T approved in the Society - we are still working on identifying how we are going to update the An Tir Rule Set to take advantage of these changes...

Looks like West Kingdom might beat AnTir to it.
A post from West Kingdom's Rapier Marshal sent out for March Crown "I will also hold a meeting to discuss the start of the cut and thrust rapier program - mark your calendars now for the upcoming collegia and for the A&S event in the summer. If you are interested in cut and thrust, you will need to go to these events."

Not the first ones - I forget who, but at least one other kingdom has this in place now I believe. Basically - they just pretended that the sidesword experiement never stopped.
An Tir however, is looking at actually incorporating the official SCA rules into the An Tir rules - instead of working with a totally separate program.

Yup, seen the draft changes for the West rapier rules. They are incorporating them there as well.
Already started training the kingdoms fighters down there. |

FYI - those interested in more information on C&T in An Tir can contact Chrestien de Valois for the moment.
I had a little bit of a computer issue, so will not be able to post the draft of the new rules until early next week. |
