Greetings,
You are hereby invited to participate in the Second Avacal/Tir Righ Rapier Champion's Challenge. It is a tournament designed to test the best of Avacal against the best of Tir Righ, with networking and revelry being the prime goals. I ran a similar tournament last year at Avacal November Coronet, and although turnout was fair, I feel we can do much better. This is why I'm running this version at a war between the two Principalities in terms of geography and that I already know will be well attended.
This tournament is being held at the upcoming war between the Principalities of Avacal and Tir Righ, on Saturday Afternoon of the 28th of June, at 4:00. It's a nice time slot, well after the rapier scenarios and after the armoured scenarios are finished as well. I apologize for the short notice, but I needed approval from a number of different sources before I could send out invitations. Despite the short notice, I hope you'll spread the word about this tournament, and encourage all who might be thinking of attending the war to participate. I'd like to stress that although I am sending out personal invitations to the event, this is an OPEN TOURNAMENT. Anyone who wants to participate may do so. The only entrance fee I ask is that you wear your coolest stuff, and if you have Champion's regalia, to display it proudly. PLEASE FORWARD THIS MISSIVE TO EVERYONE ENDER THE SUN.
The format will be announced at the event, as it will depend on the number of fighters present. Likely formats are double elim, if the turnout is good. Round robin, seeding into single elim, if it is not. The prize, however, I can announce. It is a Practical Broadsword... I'd attach a photo if I knew how I can give you more details on the sword if you would like. It's very nice, is hot off the presses, and handles like a dream. I'm sorry to part with it, but would love to see it won in a tournament between the best our Principalities have to offer. I am also mulling secondary prizes and etc, but am unsure what they'll be as of yet.
If you intend to attend, I would appreciate an RSVP, but it is certainly not required. Good luck to all who attend and I look forward to meeting/reuniting/beating up all of you!
