07/18/2007 9:13 AM Alert

Friends, let me point out that there is now some preliminary information about Academia della Spada's Western Washington WMA Workshop 2008 available at the 4W website: http://4wseattle.com.  The event itself will be held on Feb 15th-18th, 2008 in Magnuson Park in Seattle and--while the format and schedule are still firming up--as things stand the primary tracks will include:

    * Northern Italian Dueling Saber with Maestro Ramon Martínez
    * I.33 (Medieval Sword & Buckler) with Maestro Sean Hayes
    * French Small Sword with Maestro Jeannette Acosta-Martínez
    * Medieval German Martial Arts with Christian Tobler
    * Fiore dei Liberi's Medeival Combat System with Bob Charron
    * Baroque Sword with Tom Leoni

Don't be surprised if we add a couple other tracks as well by the time things have finalized.  Also look for:

German Dusack • Navaja (Spanish knife) • Bolognese Sword • Sword & Dagger
Backsword • Pugilism • Elizabethan Pike Drill • Renaissance Horsemanship

Registration doesn't open until October 1st, and aside from some flyers at ISMAC we haven't started publicizing the event yet, but I wanted to get the word out locally for those whose calendars may be filling up.

Hi William,

I realize you are in preliminary-ish planning still, but have you determined/estimated the price range for registration?

Thanks!

Cheryl

Cheryl,

We're still crunching numbers on the registration fee.  It is to some degree a function of the final schedule, so until we get a couple things nailed down I can't give you a good answer.  As soon as I know something, though, I will update it here and on the 4W website.  I want to give folks as much time as possible to plan.
