Greetings!
Long has it been tradition at Avacal Coronet Tournaments for the Order of the White Scarf to host Cadet's Tournaments to test the mettle of the gathered Cadets. While this is a fine tradition, I've decided for this upcoming June Coronet Tournament that I'd like to do something a little bit different. A Cadet's tournament will still be held, as scheduled, but I have added a second tournament to the agenda whose purposes I will outline below.
The rapier communities of Avacal and of Tir Righ lie distant to each other, and only rarely can one or the other group make the long trip to even one of our respective large scale events. This is a shame, for not only are we unable to test the stabbing ability of our friends to the west, but we rarely have a chance to meet (or reacquaint ourselves with) them as well. With this Coronet tournament being held on the far western borders of Avacal and the far eastern borders of Tir Righ (Prince George, BC), I feel this is an excellent opportunity for our two communities to interact in the way we're best at!
I am therefore challenging the Rapier Champions of both Tir Righ and Avacal (that is, Baronial, Shire, and Principality) to attend an invitational tournament at Coronet early in June. All comers will be welcome to compete of course, by my target audience is Rapier Champions on both side of the border. The tournament will be held during the morning on the Sunday before everyone goes home, and the Cadet's Tournament will be held at its regularly scheduled time during the day on Saturday. Full championship regalia is appreciated and encouraged! I have not decided on tournament format or prizes as of yet and will keep everyone posted as to details when I have a better idea of numbers. I'll make sure the prize is really really cool so people have incentive to travel far and wide.
I do apologize for scheduling this tourney on the same weekend as both the Scholars of St. Thomas Aquinas event in Appledore and especially the same weekend as Lions Gate's participation in the Relay for Life in memory of Baron Gerhard, but some type of conflict was unavoidable (not to mention the week after Investiture, y'all might be partied out).
I will be posting this tournament to as many local lists as my minions can find, as well as personally e-mailing the details to any and all champions who haven't hidden their contact information well enough. I know the travel times from Tir Righ core to this event will not be pleasant, but again it's the best possible with an event somewhere in Avacal. I will personally be traveling somewhere in the area of 13-14 hours to this event so I understand your pain.
The event runs from June 1 - June 3 and the details are posted here: http://antir.sca.org/Upcoming/?Event_ID=1673
If the tournament is badly scheduled for some potential attendees, let me know and 'll see what we can work out (Sunday morning before the drive at the moment).
Thanks for your time and I hope for everyone's sake that we see a whole gaggle of people out to compete. Please let me know by some means if you choose to attend so I can plan the details.

| Reminder to everyone this event is this weekend. Some of us Avacalians are driving a loooong ways (15+ hours!), it'd be cool if some Tir Righ folk showed up too =) |

The event was a blast. The rapier community of Cold Keep thanks Guillemin for his efforts to put this event on. It is not often that our Shire has the opportunity to fight and learn from highly talented fighters. Our thanks to all that travelled great distances to attend. We are richer for it. Many thanks, IYS Henry Hawkyns |
