If you have time available on your schedule this weekend, there are still some spaces available in the Smallsword Workshop being offered at Academie Duello by the esteemed Braun McAsh, swordmaster of the highlander series and one of the longest standing scholars of Western Martial Arts in North America. Though the focus of the workshop is the smallsword, you will definitely learn quite a few good tricks and approaches to technique for the rapier-minded as well.
I have included the information from our website below. Accomodations are available in town and if you come up for the weekend you will find opportunities to study or simply spar with a great group of people on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Feel free to contact me for more details and arrangements.
Smallsword Workshop
Sunday, February 18th - 12pm to 4pm
Cost:
$60 Canadian
Learn swordplay
as it was taught by Dominico Angelo in 1800s France.
The smallsword was a light, fast, dueling weapon that struck with the
point for the thrust and tip cut. It was the transitional weapon
between the rapier and the modern fencing weapons, in particular the
foil and epee.
Students will learn the quick blade play of the smallsword as well as use of the offhand for binding, disarming, and parrying.
