We are interested in declaring war (rapier, of course) on another barony, hopefully sometime in 2008.

We are looking for a barony with a reasonable rapier population (the more the better of course).

The event could take place somewhere in between.

Each Barony would bring their rapier fighters, along with any champions or cadets, and extra fighters would be used to even out the sides.

Anyone have any interest?

We were thinking of trying to find a site up in northern/centralish washington somewhere, so those from Canada wouldn't have too far of a drive.  (We want to set up a really massive war)

The best rapier war I've ever attended was up in Canada.  At some Equestrian park (35 or so fighters if I recall correctly).  But that must've been six years ago, because I was still too young to participate.

And it doesn't really have to be our barony versus another, it could be alliances of baronies or whatever (I'm not positive, but I think the majority of Vulkanfeldt might be cadeted to my father).

how many fighters you think you can muster?

Oh goodness we got a bunch of great duellists ... the most numbers will be on the coast, Lionsgate, Lionsdale .... Alvarro? Richarde? Warrick? Anyone? Anybody down there want to guess how many fighters you have?

Then there's a good amount from my area in the 'Okanagan', as well as Draven, Henry and their friends up in Ramsgaard and beyond. And then everyone in between.

What did we have at Clinton this past summer .. like over 60? Anyone know?

Location will have a big impact on attendance as well as the date. But such is the case all the time.

well, regardless of who we declare war on, we are always looking for input about good sites, and good scenarios.

I really think we might try to get a site up near the border.

Also any suggestions as to good dates would be appreciated.

Seamus an I have been working hard on coming up with some good scenarios, but we always want to hear more.

Good, the more baronies involved the better.  How many rapier fighters do you have locally?  Would they be willing to travel a wee bit?

Philip De Mantel?

We have about 10-15 local rapier fighters. Most of them would probably be willing to travel some

That's quite a few fencers. I'm open to suggestions as to good locations if you have any. I don't really mind travelling, but I'm kind of looking for something that wouldn't be too far for our friends to the north.

Molly, how far a drive is Wenatchee for people up in your neck of the woods? Would something further up along the coast (Bellinghamish maybe) be better?

I have found that if the event is held closer to the coast then more people will attend.
Us interior people seem to be willing to drive further to fight.

Nov Investiture at the Shire of Shittimwoode should prove to have many fighters I think.
It's just south of the US/Can line and about halfway between interior and coast.

Something in that area would be a nice compromise for all I'm hoping.

No way y'all would consider something a little further east, would you? Because Avacal is pretty far away from that, and some of us may want to play. Just sayin'.

Yeah, two-thirds of us from Vulcanfeldt are cadets to Jack, so if you're looking to fight, we'll be there with you.
