Just a reminder to one and all to check your fight cards and membership cards before the event - there will be no fight cards issued at the event.

Also you might want to think about making a tourney board shield before hand.

And if you are making new fighting garb please remember to get it drop tested. I will have my drop tester with me at the Kent practice on 12/6, the Dragon's Laire practice on 12/7 and the Glymm Mere practice on 12/8.

Do we have an official ruling from the KRM that entrants must have documentation (membership and fight card) physically with them to sign up at lists?

And for those of you without a shield board, you can contact me for the dimensions, or if I remember I will measure one this evening and post them here.

Simon.

Yes - lets have that official ruling.

All fighters MUST have the following pieces of paper on their PHYSICAL person, when signing up at lists.

SCA Membership card (blue or white)
Rapier Authorization Card

If you do not have either of these, the you cannot compete. I am willing to allow a limited number (3 only) of exceptions to the general policy, to provide RE-authorizations on the SATURDAY of 12th night (i.e. - the day prior to the tourney), subject to the condtions lited below:

-Must be due to extrenuous circumstances (no Senior Marshal availability prior to event for RE-auth, etc)
-The fighter in question can show that they have made sufficient attempts to resolve this earlier - to the best of their ability.
-Must be arranged with ME prior to December 31st
-No new authorizations for rapier will be allowed to occur during 12th night - AT ALL

Cheers!

Excellent, that is one less thing for me to pack (laptop), as the sole member of Kingdom List Delivery Systems.;)

And, yes I forgot completely about posting the shield board Tile dimensions.

I'm taking it that the proof of payment/membership thingie you print off when you buy your membership online will work in leu of the actual membership card?

Also, just as an additional reminder. Remember to have your tourney board with you for the tournament.

Well, now that it looks like I'm going to be able to fight (read: get my butt kicked) at 12th night, i should probably find out: what is a tourney board and how do I make one?

I pulled this excerpt from the the online Herald's Letters, fyi. (http://heralds.badger.cx/IL/2004/0604/june04hp.html)

The tourney tiles are traditional shield shaped, the same shape found on the device submission form at http://www.antirheralds.org/submissions/forms/device.pdf.
(I'd paste a picture, but I haven't figured out how to do that in a message yet.)

I don't know offhand where else it is posted, and Simon might have a better description/link for assistance, but the measurements etc were provided in this article by our lovely kingdom lists minister:

On Shields for the Kingdom List Board
from Lady Alessandra de Montefeltro, Kingdom Lists Minister
supplied to the Heralds' Page by Ciaran Lowenmähne

The shields are 4 inches from center top to center bottom and 3.75 inches across the top from left to right. Holes 1/8 inch in diameter are 7/16 from the middle of the top edge (on center) and approximately 1/2 inch from the center bottom point (on center). The holes should be NO smaller than 1/8 inch as they become difficult to attach to the hanging hooks currently in use on the Kingdom List Board.

Also, the shields or tourney tiles as a general rule are wood but can be metal or plastic. These should be 1/8 inch thick or less. Any thicker and the holes for hanging them must be correspondingly larger.

. . .

Cardboard blanks are available at the Kingdom Lists table along with coloring pens for creation the day of the tourney if needed or for taking home as a template afterward.

Does the Kingdom Lists have some of the ours list boards already? Worst case scenario I'll bring my back up one...
